The ASUS M2A-VM is built for AMD Socket AM2+ processors and is backwards compatible with Socket AM2 CPUs as well. The M2A-VM is built with the AMD 690G / SB600 chipset combination, supporting up to 8 GB of DDR2 memory and including integrated Radeon X1250 graphics with DVI-D output and HDCP support for Blu-ray video playback. VGA output is also included for multiple display support and integrated audio is handled by the Realtek ALC883 5.1-channel chipset.

Connect to high-speed networks with integrated Realtek RTL8111B 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet LAN. Add storage and configure advanced arrays with four Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s channels with RAID support. Install add-on cards to the two PCI slots or upgrade to more powerful graphics with the PCI Express x16 slot. There's four rear USB 2.0 ports and six more available via internal headers.
